CLINTON, MA / LAGUNA WOODS, CA
Lillian “Lulu” (Papacalos) Patterson, 82, died Thursday, June 28, 2012, after an illness.
She leaves her husband of 51 years, Lt. Col. Kenneth Patterson, USMC (Ret.); three sisters: Athena Omrod and Constance Shepard, both of Clinton, and Mimi Bergstrom of Woodstock, VT; two sisters-in-law, Janet Huie of Sudbury, and Maureen Haskins of Orange County, CA; a brother-in-law, Brian Patterson of Spokane, WA; many nieces and nephews. Two sisters, Christine Lynskey and Alyce Woolever, pre-deceased her.
Lillian was born and raised in Clinton, daughter of Louis and Mary (Zapantis) Papacalos. She was a graduate of Clinton High School, Class of 1948, and a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. As her husband was stationed in various places around the country, she began her studies at the University of Oklahoma, followed by San Diego State University, before graduating from the University of Hawaii at Manoa, in 1974 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. She and her husband resided in Honolulu, HI, from 1971-2009, at which time they relocated to Laguna Woods, CA.
Over the years, Lillian worked as a School Teacher, Real Estate Agent, and Bookkeeper.
She was a former member of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, and enjoyed sailing, golf, playing bridge, and traveling all over Europe, Greece, China, Thailand, and Japan.
