STILL RIVER/CLINTON

Bertha Dorothea (Kowalczyk) Quinn, 94, of Still River, formerly of Clinton, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 6, 2012, in Knollwood Nursing Center, Worcester. Her husband of 46 years, William T. Quinn, died in 1992.

She leaves a son, Dennis W. Quinn, and his wife, Christine, with whom she lived; a daughter, Kathleen A. Quinn, and her husband, Thomas Michaud, of Clinton; three grandsons: Mathieu Michaud of Shrewsbury, Sean Quinn of Allston, and Michael Michaud and his wife, Katie, of Sterling; one great-grandson, Jason Michaud; many loving nieces and nephews. Four brothers, Joseph, Stanley, Anthony & Walter Kowalczyk, and a sister, Stella McGovern, predeceased her.

“Bea,” as she was affectionately known to all her loved ones, was born and raised in Clinton, daughter of Alexander and Anastazja (Krawczyk) Kowalczyk. She was a graduate of Clinton High School, Class of 1935, and remained a Clinton resident until 20 years ago, at which time she moved to Still River to live with her son, Dennis, and his family.

A devout member of St. John the Evangelist Church, Bea was dedicated to her loving family, and most enjoyed time spent in their company.

Bea’s funeral will be held on Wednesday, August 8, 2012 with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in St. John the Evangelist Church, 80 Union St., Clinton. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Clinton. There are no calling hours. The McNally & Watson Funeral Home, 304 Church St., Clinton, is directing arrangements. For those who wish, the family suggests that memorial donations be made to Autism Speaks, 1060 State Road, 2nd Fl., Princeton, NJ 08540, or by visiting www.autismspeaks.org.
